Connect your app

Codex

Add Ollive to Codex, in the CLI, the IDE extension and the app.

Before you start

Install Codex. The Codex CLI, IDE extension and app share one setup, so you add Ollive once and it appears in all three.

You also need an Ollive login with access to the workspace you want to use. There’s no API key to create.

Add Ollive

Run this in your terminal:

Terminal

codex mcp add ollive --url https://mcp.ollive.ai/mcp

Or add it to ~/.codex/config.toml yourself:

config.toml

[mcp_servers.ollive]url = "https://mcp.ollive.ai/mcp"

In the IDE extension, you can also open the gear menu, choose MCP servers, select Add server, and pick Streamable HTTP. Restart the extension afterwards.

  1. Run this. Your browser opens Ollive.

    Terminal

    codex mcp login ollive
  2. Sign in to Ollive if you’re asked. Check the app and the workspace, then select Allow. When the page says Codex is connected, close the tab and go back to Codex.

Check it works

Ollive should be in the list:

Terminal

codex mcp list

In Codex, type /mcp to see Ollive’s tools, then ask:

AskWhich of my agents does Ollive monitor?

Troubleshooting

  • Codex can’t reach Ollive: Check the URL in config.toml, then run codex mcp login ollive again.
  • The IDE extension doesn’t show Ollive: Restart the extension after adding a server.
  • You want a different workspace: Run codex mcp logout ollive, then codex mcp login ollive, and choose the other workspace.
  • You want to remove Ollive: Run codex mcp remove ollive.

Still stuck? Contact support with the app’s name and the message you see.
